The Trustor affair became one of Sweden's most high-profile financial scandals. A listed company was bought with its own money and shortly afterwards hundreds of millions were taken out of the company - money that was chased around the world. Journalist Gunnar Lindstedt exposed the affair while one of the main characters, Joachim Posener, disappeared without a trace.
Stockholm 1997. Eco-criminal Joachim Posener, recently released from prison, dreams of building an empire. He wants to show his parents and his seven-year-old son that he can achieve anything. Joachim joins forces with his boundless cousin, Thomas Jisander. They call themselves the Golden Boys and party hard, dream big and plan an extremely illegal business scheme. The series is inspired by the Trustor affair.
