Jo arranges Siu Mei to work as receptionist at his office. Hasn't got much experience, Siu Mei creates problems and Jo tries to explain for her. Under severe pressure, Siu Mei returns to her life as mistress making Jo very disappointed. Because of job satisfaction and better remuneration, Fong Ling agrees to work on the next movie as art director. Chung is not happy with her decision but she promises to go for a holiday with him after the project. . Jackie sleeps with Mei Ki. Fong Ling rapidly gets recognised in the field as an outstanding art director. To her joy, she wins the award for the Best Art Director in the Annual Film Awards. More than ever, she is determined to develop her own career. While feeling happy for his wife, Chung is hit by the fact that Fong Ling spends less and less time with him. He talks to her asking to give up her career, but Fong Ling adamantly refuses. Mei Ki suffers great blow when Kin Ting goes back to his wife. Debby returns to the states, unaccustomed to the life in Hong Kong. Kin Ting respects her decision to go, but decides to stay by himself. Heung has developed stomach problems for consuming too much alcohol over the years. She is sent to hospital for operation. Yee Kan and Chung are supportive and caring. Only then is Heung relieved. Kin Ting comes across Mei Ki and love rekindles between the two.
Fong Ling starts working on a new project and needs an assistant Arts Director. Kin Ting helps her approach Mei Ki, who agrees to join. Fong Ling works long hours to get the project going and neglects Chung, who begins to spend time with Siu Mei in his idleness. Jo begins to miss family life. When he sees the transformed Pui Yee, from an ignorant housewife to a smart career woman, he begins to feel remorse for the divorce. He decides to woo her back. Siu Mei's pet dies and she is overwhelmed with grief. Chung stays by her to make her feel better.
Siu Mei begs Chung to let her stay overnight in his place, so that she can be spared of staying in her own house alone. As the whole family is away, Chung agrees. Fong Ling suddenly appears in the middle of the night and mistaking Chung for having an affair with Siu Mei. She packs and goes, and would not listen to his explanation. Chung explains weakly about his innocence. Even his famiIy is unconvinced.
Yee Kan examines the circumstances and finds Chung highly unreliable. Added to the 'statement' given by Pui Yee for having witnessing them together from her own window, Chung's guilt is fully established. Only Kin Ting stands by Chung and tries to persuade Fong Ling of his innocence. Chung hopes to get Siu Mei to explain everything. But she is nowhere to be found.
Jo is sent to hospital for a sudden illness. Out of kindness, Pui Yee attends to him. Mei Ki develops a solid relationship with Kin Ting. Getting matured, she takes the initiative to end her age old rivalries with Fong Ling. Jo recovers from his sickness and is drastically transformed. He becomes a caring family man, and Pui Yee begins to see him in a new light. Siu Mei appears finally, .but claims that she is leaving in a few hours for Europe. Chung is anxious to get in touch with Fong Ling to clear the misunderstanding.
Siu Mei explains everything to Pui Yee and Yee Kan. She even comes up with an idea to videotape her speech for Fong Ling. Chung waits till midnight for Fong Ling with the tape, eagerly hoping that she would be convinced now of his innocence. When Fong Ling still speaks with the same harshness after viewing the tape, Chung is greatly hurt. Mixed with anger and despair, he suggests a divorce. At the same time, Debby wants a divorce from Kin Ting. Once and for all, these young couples will have to resolve their marriage crises.
